Since back in time there has been a lot of competition between eFootball and other football gaming giants—UFL, EA FC. It then brings us to the question what do Konami eFootball have for us this year? Konami released the eFootball 2025 update this Thursday, 12th of September 2024. Lionel Messi is the face of eFootball 2025. eFootball 2025 New Season New Features
We start off right here with the new info and gameplay feature of eFootball 2025 released on the 12th of September 2024.
Updated Leagues and Clubs
You will notice when you have a game installed and see, that you can go to any league: Ligue 1, McDonald’s League, or the English Premier League. Literally, every single team is available, though not all are licensed. Just as usual because the concept of licensing in football games is very tight.
New Player Faces
Just as we expect, there are hundreds of new player face updates, and we know a lot of you have been waiting for this. We will use Manchester City which is named Manchester B in eFootball 2025 as a showcase here. Starting with the goalkeeper, Ederson has a more smearing face. Rico Lewis has a brand new face update. We also have Jeremy Doku, Jack Grealish, Bernardo Silva, and Kevin De Bruyne, who has a new hairstyle that moves when he runs. Erling Haaland also got a hair update, with it being longer in the back, and it moves a lot during gameplay.
New Trial Match Mode Name
The offline mode trial match will now be renamed “Exhibition” and you can play with all the clubs and national teams available in the game. It finally took three years to effect this new change, but we have that now. Not only that, match settings such as match level and match time in the “Exhibition” can be changed to however you prefer.
Updated Match Time in Exhibition Mode
For the first time, we can choose the exact match time. Before, there were only three options, which took four years to fix—unbelievable. Now we have match time from 5 minutes to 30 minutes range to choose from.
Trial Revamped
A new feature type called smart assist has been implemented. This will support you during a match by automatically controlling
certain aspects for you such as power and dribbling direction
Free Sign Ups
There are some new Neymar cards and Messi Ambassador cards you can buy on your Dream Team as the game is out.
When you download eFootball right now, you’ll get a free pack, which will even give you Messi, who also received a face update. And yes, there’s a new pack animation with fireworks, featuring players standing next to each other, including Messi in the new Argentina kit.
Updated Penalty Mechanics
There is a new penalty mechanics. They added a new indicator for penalties, which might make them more accurate. After a test shot, we noticed the goal nets looks to shake.
How to Play Penalty Kicks in eFootball 2025
In case you are new to the game, and you are finding it hard to play PKs well. At the front of every penaly kick, what you need to do is flick the L stick to the direction you want to play the ball, and press or hold down O to increase the shot power applied to the kick. Don’t hold down for too long because it can apply too much shot power sacrificing away the accuracy to the shot.
Many people won’t want the kicker to see their shot coming. So you can press R1 to turn the aiming sensor to the goal post off.
Finesse Dribble
The first one is a fan-favorite control type called the “Finesse dribble”. For the Finesse dribble, you can dribble with a soft touch while keeping your body facing the direction of attack. This helps you keep the ball in crowded areas.
Improved Physical Movements
There is also an improvement in physical contact between players in a heat situation on the pitch. So say where there is physical contact between the attacker and the defender, the player with the higher physical contact stats will have the advantage.
New Stadiums Update
San Siro is exclusive to eFootball and won’t be in EAFC. The Camp Nou hasn’t been updated yet, which is disappointing since it’s exclusive to eFootball, but it may get updated when the real-life construction is completed.
New Adboards
You can also see the new adboards in matches. It has the new season theme as its design.
Off-courts Movement
Another one is off-court movement which is basically what happens outside of the football pitch. So the cameraman and the security guys are going to be literally moving around when playing matches. You may also see them walking around, you know the cameraman and others after you scored a goal. They will rush to you…
The referee and also linesman have a bit of a new different movement as well.
Improved Crowd Atmosphere
There’s going to be waving flags in the crowd while matches are on now. This obviously helps improve the atmosphere but may actually be an underrated feature because this used to be in PES back in the days.
eFootball 2025 Mobile New Features
New Weather Types
Now, eFootball 2025 mobile features the option to choose weather types rainy and snow is available in the mobile version of the new football season as already on the console version of the new season. This is the mobile gameplay with snow and rain weather effects.
Referees in Gameplay Actions
Following, Konami’s Exclusive eFootball™ Turkey Event, fans noticed referees were present during the eFootball™ Mobile Gameplay.
There are also new football designs, including real ones, not just generic ones. There are a total of 16 balls in eFootball 2025.

Maintenance Updates
So basically the large maintenance update is going to happen from the 11th to the 12th, almost going to be 24 hours. So this is literally going to be the biggest update Konami eFootball has done. Some people have also noticed players are on the bench now during in-game matches or when a game has been played.
Sad Changes and Updates
Master League
There is still no news of Master League. Even with the biggest update ever in the game, with not many new features, Master League wasn’t released yet. There is no mention of when, where, or what is happening to Master League. People are not happy about it. When we take a look at some of the comments on Twitter. So just like eFootball2024, eFootball 2025 is without Master League mode.
